DUDES!

So, you know those shows you're embarrassed to admit you love? Mine is "Avatar:The Last Airbender" and dudes, guess what, it's turning into a movie. Downside to this awesome news is that M. Night Shyamalan is directing, and I'm afraid. What if he turns everything upside down and makes big plot twists? What if it's hardly recognizable and I have to decipher everything that happens.
Another odd thing is that they had to drop "avatar" from the movie title because of James Cameron's new film coming out called "Avatar." So, it's just called "The Last Airbender," which is fine by me. Jesse McCartney was supposed to play Zuko, which is laughable, but they got this new kid Dev Patel who everyone will recognize from "Slumdog Millonaire." Another recognizable face is Sokka who will be played by Jackson Rathbone. He was Jasper in this November's hit "Twilight." But, who is going to play Appa? Is he going to be all CGI? I'm worried about this movie so much. I want it to be great, but I have doubts, very high doubts.

MTV posted some information on Patel committing here:
http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/02/02/slumdog-star-dev-patel-joins-jackson-rathbone-for-the-last-airbender/

so check that out if you're interested in more information, don't bother with imdb.com because all the posts are about how people think the casting is racist.
and that's ridiculous.
