brothers at war

there this movie receiving great reviews across the board called 'brothers at war' its about a man who visits his two brothers who are serving in Iraq. It seems really touching and is only playing limited release, but luckily the Algonquin Theatre in Manasquan is showing it April 26, 29, 30 at 1 and 7:30.

it's wednesday already

it's been raining up a storm here in new jersey, which is bad news. but I've been movie-ing a lot lately and my recommendation for today is Sunshine Cleaning starring Amy Adams and Alan Arkin and others. It's playing at the Red Bank theatre and chronicles the story of a single mom who works as a body clean up lady to get her son into private school. It's a great plot and everything is well developed, and I liked it.
It got sad too, and happy, and gross. i love it

TODAY

today, i met with a features writer from the Asbury Park Press named Patti Bartsche. She's really nice and was very informative. She was the editor-in-chief of Manasquan's newspaper when she attended high school there, and had some interesting stories of her early years in the business. I had always kept Journalism in the back of my mind as a career choice, but Mrs. Bartsche told me that majoring in Journalism is a bad idea, so I'm going to take that advice.
I also learned that it's easier to get into contact with high profile people than I had originally thought. She said all she does is google "celebrity's name publicist" and works from there, so if I ever need Zach Braff's phone number that's what I'm gonna doooo.

So, on another note, the Asbury Par Film Festival is this weekend. There are a lot of movies there, some about Johnny Cash and a couple centered around the jersey shore. You should all check it out, it starts thursday

of all the trailers of all the movies of all the books of all the times, this is one that I am most excited excited for.
it's directed by spike jonze and an adaptation of the book "where the wild things are"
the monsters look beautiful, as do the entire style of direction.
i also love the song in the trailer by arcade fire.
